Port Jefferson, New Feeder C&R Project

Project Specifics

As part of PSEG Long Island's commitment to delivering safe and reliable energy, we work continuously on energy infrastructure improvements that increase reliability and help to ensure you have power whenever you need it. We are committed to making every effort to ensure the grid is resilient during storms. The improvements we are working on will help support the Port Jefferson area and are necessary to ensure greater reliability for the electrical system.

The improvements we are making include:

  • Installing new underground distribution cable from the Port Jefferson substation north of Route 25A to the corner of Limroy Lane in Setauket.
  • Replacing three wood poles and installing one new wood pole with poles of similar size and heigh to accommodate new overhead switching equipment.
  • Installation of underground equipment to help better isolate and reduce the duration of outages, including seventeen manholes.
