In the coming weeks, we will be performing work in your community.

Project Specifics
This work will help storm harden a portion of an overhead transmission circuit that crosses the Seaford Oyster Bay Expressway. The work includes the replacement of four wood transmission poles and the installation of overhead transmission wire. Existing transmission poles are wood and extend to approximate heights above grade ranging from 56 feet to 68 feet. All existing poles will be replaced with new wood poles and will extend to approximate heights ranging from 63.5 feet to 72.5 feet.

Project Location/Route Details
Crews will be working along Clark Street and Demott Avenue, between Seamans Neck Road and Interlake Drive.

Project Timeline
Construction is expected to start in September 2026 and conclude by October 2026. Crews are expected to work primarily Monday through Friday during normal business hours. Some extended hours/weekends may be needed. 

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Will there be any traffic interruptions? 
    There may be traffic and parking disruptions when work is performed along certain parts of the project route. To ensure traffic moves safely, PSEG Long Island will provide cones, flaggers and signage at the work sites as needed. 
  • Will there be tree trimming?
    Trees growing near power lines pose safety risks and significantly increase the chance of power outages. We will trim trees when it’s necessary to improve safety and reliability. We follow a model based on utility best practices (ANSI A300 standards as well as the Best Management Practices Tree Pruning publication): 8 feet to each side; 12 feet above; and 10 feet below the line.
  • Will there be any power outages? 
    If a brief outage is required, affected customers will be notified in advance.
  • Do you have permission to do this work? 
    PSEG Long Island secured required permits as necessary.
