Reliability Projects

We're making upgrades to enhance our system's ability to withstand extreme weather and meet energy demands.

PSEG Long Island continues to make improvements to its energy infrastructure in order to increase reliability and minimize outages affecting our customers. We are committed to making every effort to ensure our grid is resilient during storms. In the coming weeks, you will see PSEG Long Island performing important work along portions of Access Road, Atlantic Avenue, and Lawson Boulevard.

Project Specifics
The work entails replacing existing underground transmission cable and equipment to help reliability and upgrade the system. The work to improve the electrical system is scheduled to take place in the following locations:

  • Along a portion of Access Road, just south of Atlantic Avenue
  • Atlantic Avenue between Lawson Boulevard to just west of Ocean Avenue
  • Lawson Boulevard just south of Atlantic Avenue 

 
Project Timeline

Crews will begin working in early January and expect to be completed in April.

  • Will there be any power outages? 
    There will be no outages associated with this work. 
  • Will there be any traffic interruptions?
    There will be traffic and parking disruptions while the work is performed along the project route. To ensure traffic moves safely, PSEG Long Island will provide cones, flaggers and signage at the work sites, as needed.
