Reliability Projects

We're making upgrades to enhance our system's ability to withstand extreme weather and meet energy demands.

Project Specifics
The project includes the installation of new underground cable and equipment that will improve reliability and reduce restoration times. 

Project Timeline
Construction work is expected to begin in February 2026 and pause in June 2026. Work is expected to resume in October 2026 and conclude in December 2026. Crews will be working Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • Beach 95th Street between Rockaway Beach Boulevard and Shore Front Parkway
  • Shore Front Parkway between Beach 95th Street and Beach 90th Street
  • Beach 90th Street between Shore Front Parkway and Rockaway Beach Boulevard
  • Rockaway Beach Boulevard between Beach 90th Street and Beach 74th Street
  • Holland Avenue between Beach 90th Street and Beach 84th Street
  • Beach 84th Street between Rockaway Beach Boulevard and Shore Front Parkway
  • Beach 81st Street between Beach Channel Drive and Shore Front Parkway
  • Beach 77th Street between Rockaway Beach Boulevard and Shore Front Parkway
  • Beach 74th Street between Rockaway Beach Boulevard and Shore Front Parkway

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Will there be any planned power outages? 
    PSEG Long Island does not anticipate any power outages as a result of the first phase of work in March. During the later phases of the project, we do anticipate scheduled power outages as the new system is tied in and energized. All affected customers shall be notified in advance and PSEG Long Island will make every effort to keep the outage durations to a minimum.
  • Will there be any traffic interruptions? 
    There will be minimal traffic and parking disruptions along the project route. To ensure traffic moves safely, PSEG Long Island will provide cones, flaggers, and signage at the work sites, as needed.
