Authorization to Receive Customer Information
Effective January 1, 2024, PSEG Long Island will be implementing a new process for the Letter of Authorization (LOA). In order to obtain customer information, the form must be filled out in its entirety. All previous LOA’s will no longer be accepted.
Before providing requested customer information, all areas on the form must be filled out clearly and signed. Any incomplete sections, will be returned. All completed LOA’s will be verified and confirmed by the customer.

A PSEG Long Island representative will send an acknowledgment email within three business days. A response to your inquiry may take up to seven to ten business days or twenty business days for complex requests.

A request for records not listed can be made directly to LIPA, pursuant to the New York State Freedom of Information Law (“FOIL”), at https://www.lipower.org/foil/.

Yes, the maximum authorization is three years. The customer of record shall specify what information the Authorized Party is entitled to receive, to what extent the Authorized Party may transact on the customer’s behalf and whether the Authorization is being provided on a one-time basis or on a long-term basis (not to exceed three years from the date of execution).

Yes, monthly or bimonthly historical information beyond the twenty-four (24) months will be provided, as available, for a charge of forty dollars ($40.00) plus NYSA, ARA Transportation, and Sales Tax if applicable. There is no charge for historical information up to 24 months (LIPA Tariff for Electric Service, Leaf 107B).

Yes, there is a charge of ten dollars ($10.00) plus NYSA, ARA Transportation, and if applicable Sales Tax for each meter-reading period’s requested data. We can provide access to the MySmartEnergy website with authorization from the customer of record to obtain the interval data at no charge. (LIPA Tariff for Electric Service, Leaf 107B)
