Rising Energy Prices

We can help you manage higher energy prices

It’s in the news, and you may have noticed it on your bill. The bitterly cold winter and higher energy use around the country have caused an increase in energy prices. While PSEG Long Island does not benefit when energy prices go up, we understand the impact on you.

How does that affect your electric bill?
Most of the electricity you use comes from power plants fueled by natural gas. While PSEG Long Island doesn’t own power plants or benefit from higher energy prices, we understand the impact on customers and remain committed to helping you manage your energy bills.

What to expect?
The cost of electricity is shown on your bills as the Power Supply Charge. It has increased significantly and we expect it to remain higher than usual for at least a few more months. We pass along this cost directly with no markup and this will affect all customers regardless of electric rate.
