Ocean Beach Substation – Raise Select Equipment

Reliability Projects

We're making upgrades to enhance our system's ability to withstand extreme weather and meet energy demands.

Project Specifics
PSEG Long Island will be performing a critical resiliency upgrade at the Ocean Beach Substation to reduce the risk of flooding during severe weather events. As part of this project, select electrical equipment will be elevated approximately 40 inches above its current height using steel support structures. Three pieces of equipment will be raised on the south side of the substation, and one piece of equipment will be raised on the north side. These improvements are designed to protect essential infrastructure and ensure the continued delivery of safe and reliable electric service.

Project Route
All work will be performed inside the Ocean Beach Substation on Surfview Walk.

Project Timeline
Construction is expected to begin in November 2026 with anticipated completion in February 2027. Crews will be working Monday through Friday from approximately 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. Weekend work will occur as needed.
