Fleet Make Ready Program

Incentives to help your fleet electrification

Our Fleet Make Ready program helps public fleets and public transportation fleets power up by providing essential support to build EV charging infrastructure. The program provides infrastructure incentives that can cover up to $50,000 for public fleets and up to $200,000 for public transportation fleets. This initiative aims to support light-duty, medium-duty, or heavy-duty fleet owners in their fleet electrification journey.

Benefits of Electrifying Your Fleet

  • Lower Fuel Costs: Electricity offers more stable fuel prices and better fuel economy, reducing overall fleet operating expenses.
  • Enhanced Performance: Electric vehicles provide maximum torque and smooth acceleration, outperforming internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles in various driving conditions.
  • Reduced Maintenance: Electric vehicles require less maintenance than conventional vehicles, resulting in lower costs and increased uptime for your fleet.
  • Flexible Charging Options: Charge your vehicles at dedicated fleet facilities or public charging stations, ensuring operational flexibility.
  • Sustainability Goals: Achieve state and federal standards while reducing greenhouse gas emissions across your fleet.
  • Noise Reduction: Minimize noise pollution in urban areas, making your fleet operations quieter and more community-friendly.

Application Review + Pre-Approval
After an application is submitted, the EV team will review and issue a conditional pre-approval if all requirements are met. This pre-approval is valid for a year
  Energize the Station
Once the Contractor states that the charging station is energized, they would notify the EV team and a site visit would be made. All closeout documents will be requested and must be submitted before a site visit is scheduled.
Receive Close-out Documents + Site Visit
Once a charging station has been fully installed and online, the Applicant should submit all closeout documentation including a final invoice, signed project completion form, and site verification form with photos. For new services, you will need to provide the PSEG Long Island account number. A connection with our data aggregator is required before a project can be closed out.
  Application Processing + Receive Rebate
Once the documentation is completed this allows the PSEG Long Island rebate processing team to issue the incentive. Please note that the incentive may take 4-6 weeks to process and be disbursed.
