Thank you for assisting PSEG Long Island during our storm restoration. This webpage will assist you during your onboarding process.

Electric mutual aid contractors and/or outside utilities will find work rules, training materials and applicable documents here to help you complete your job safely.

High Voltage

This video will discuss working on PSEG Long Island’s high voltage lines that are over 600 volts. The video will discuss PSEG Long Island’s distribution voltages, transmission voltages, overhead construction standards, worker conduct, and other pertinent safety information.

Wire Watcher Damage Assessor

This video will discuss down wires and assessing damage on Long Island. The video includes appropriate personal protective equipment, hazard situations regarding downed wires, worker conduct, and other pertinent safety information.

Guidelines

  • Each Foreign Crew member (contractor and outside utility) is required to be on-boarded prior to the start of restoration work.
  • The General Foreman or Foreman/Lead assigned to crews for the contractor and/or outside utility will be responsible for taking applicable safety onboarding and disseminating the information to their assigned crews.
  • All crews will receive a safety brief at the start of each shift for the duration of storm restoration.
