The Community Thrive program provides funding to eligible 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(6) organizations - Chambers of Commerce, Business Improvement Districts, and Civic Associations – to support proposed business community projects.

Reimbursements Available
Maximum award cap in any program year will be up to $10,000 for any Chamber, BID or Civic Association. *Awards in a community identified as a Disadvantaged Community (DAC) as per NYSERDA may receive an extra 25% bonus for a total of $12,500.
Qualified Reimbursements
A list of qualified reimbursements is posted below. Custom projects may also be submitted and will be reviewed. Formal written estimates must be submitted for all items with application.
- Benches, Bike Racks and Garbage Receptacles
- Information Kiosks and “Welcome To” Signs
- Public Art: Murals, Sculptures, and Painted Flowerpots
- Perennial Plantings
Accepting applications until September 30, 2026, or until funds are exhausted.
All work to be completed, and paperwork for payment to be submitted by December 1, 2026

Please see the following regulations:
- PSEG Long Island will conduct pre-inspection and post-inspection of site associated with project.
- Reimbursement will be for itemized material and labor costs, however costs for labor performed by local town/village employees cannot be included.
- Awards will be paid upon completion of pre-approved project.
- Applicant agrees to participate in PSEG Long Island marketing and promotional activities related to any award provided for a period of up to two (2) years after issuance of final award payment.
- PSEG Long Island to be included in ribbon-cutting events/community photos.
- Chamber or Association to tag @PSEGLI and utilize #PSEGLI and #BusinessFirst in social media in reference to assistance provided by PSEG Long Island.
- Any award provided may only be used by the recipient for the stated and approved use.
- PSEG Long Island reserves the right to withhold the award if the project changes or the requirements of the program are not met.
- This program may be suspended without notice at any time.

- Application must be associated with a specific, well-defined project and include itemized material costs and written estimates from contractors for all associated items in the project.
- Submittals are subject to PSEG Long Island review based on community impact.
- Applications must be submitted for pre-approval prior to purchasing materials or starting a project.
- Disadvantaged Community Location confirmation can be verified at nyserda.ny.gov/ny/disadvantaged-communities.
- Proper proof of spending including receipts and/or paid invoices must be provided as well as proof of payment by Applicant.
- Purchases must be made by Applicant (Chamber/BID/Civic).
- If pre-funding is necessary, applicants may be able to secure funds upfront from their associated Chamber Council. See application for approved Supplemental Funding Organizations.
- Program application approval is not guaranteed. PSEG Long Island retains the sole right to select awardees and determine award amounts.
