Press Release

PSEG Long Island’s Sixth Annual Power to Feed Long Island Food Collection Drive is Coming to a Town Near You

Community invited to donate online at psegliny.com/feedLI or in person at eight events across Long Island from June through September to support Island Harvest Food Bank

(UNIONDALE, N.Y. – June 2, 2026) PSEG Long Island is energized to announce details of its sixth annual Power to Feed Long Island food drive initiative to support Island Harvest Food Bank.

Between June 12 and the end of September (schedule below), Long Islanders are invited to come to one of eight collection sites at Stop & Shop supermarkets across Long Island to donate in support of their neighbors. All food and essential items collected will be distributed by Island Harvest Food Bank to families through local soup kitchens, nourishment centers, food pantries and other outreach programs.

PSEG Long Island created Power to Feed Long Island because during the summer months, there is a significant reduction in food donations to local food banks, pantries and other programs. In addition, children on summer break from school are not receiving free or reduced-cost breakfast and lunch. With hundreds of thousands of Long Island families struggling with hunger and food insecurity every day, Power to Feed Long Island provides significant assistance during this crucial time. With Power to Feed Long Island, PSEG Long Island proudly provides venues for the community to give – and over the past five years, Long Islanders have generously donated the equivalent of nearly 153,000 meals to this initiative.

“We are grateful for the generosity of our fellow Long Islanders who each year come out to our collection sites and help their neighbors by donating to our Power to Feed Long Island campaign. We are energized to help families in our communities by partnering with Island Harvest and Stop & Shop for our sixth straight year. I am proud of PSEG Long Island’s commitment to supporting the communities where we live and work, and greatly appreciate our employees who always help at these events by volunteering their time and making their own donations to help their neighbors.”

-  Lou DeBrino, Vice President of Customer Operations, PSEG Long Island, and Island Harvest Board Member

“As more Long Island families face mounting financial challenges such as putting food on their tables, the longtime partnership with PSEG Long Island, Stop & Shop and generous Long Islanders becomes even more critical in helping our neighbors in need,” said Randi Shubin Dresner, president and CEO, Island Harvest Food Bank. "PSEG Long Island's annual Power to Feed Long Island is a lifeline for providing supplemental food support through the summer months, and we are grateful for their ongoing support of our efforts in ending hunger and reducing food waste on Long Island."

“At Stop & Shop, we believe access to food is a basic human right, not a luxury, and we know how important it is to support the communities we serve, especially as more families face food insecurity,” said Daniel Wolk, External Communications manager at Stop & Shop. “We are proud to once again partner with PSEG Long Island and Island Harvest Food Bank to host the Power to Feed Food Drive at our stores. This longstanding collaboration makes it easy for our customers to give back while shopping, and together we can help ensure our neighbors have access to the food they need.”

Representatives from PSEG Long Island will be available to provide information on financial assistance programs and money-saving energy efficiency options available to its electric customers. Island Harvest Food Bank personnel will be in attendance to share information on its hunger relief programs.
