PSEG Long Island offers presentations to educate children about safety and using energy wisely. PSEG Long Island is dedicated to helping educate children about electrical safety, emergency preparedness and energy efficiency.
Earth Month Video Contest (Grades 4-12)
In celebration of Earth Day (April 22) participating teachers across Long Island and the Rockaways are provided the education materials and programming needed to create a short Public Service Announcement (PSA) video about environmental topics, such as energy efficiency and conservation. Winning PSAs are highlighted here and on social media. Congrats and thank you to all that participate!

Electric Safety Town (Grades 3-6)
This popular, interactive program teaches the principles of electric safety using a model of a two-story home and part of a residential neighborhood. With real-world scenarios of potential hazards, students learn about the potential dangers in their own neighborhoods or daily life and what do if faced with such a situation. Each presentation ends with a question and answer period.

Get Smart About Children's Safety! (Grades 2-5)
PSEG Long Island employees demonstrate our Electric Safety Town and Touch-A-Truck presentations. We also have videos with topics such as How Power is Generated, Indoor Electrical Safety, Electrical Hazards, and Storm Preparation.

Safety Sleuth (Grades 3-5)
We'll show you how to be safe around electricity and how to keep others safe as well. This fun and educational video can be viewed at home or in the classroom. Touch-A-Truck (Grades 3-6)
Similar to Electric Safety Town, Touch-A-Truck is a popular interactive program where students get up close to a real PSEG Long Island bucket truck. During this presentation, a trained professional in full gear guides students through an interactive, up close and personal, hands-on look in and around the truck to demonstrate how it works, how it is used and why. Discussion of safety measures and Q&A conclude this demonstration.
