Residential Energy Affordability Partnership (REAP) Program

Get a $50 Bill Credit and $30 Marketplace Voucher

Receive a $50 bill credit and a $30 voucher to the PSEG Long Island Online Marketplace after completion of a REAP Home Energy Survey. In addition, the REAP Program is offering, for qualifying customers, installation of a smart thermostat; door sweeps; attic hatch covers; water conservation (faucet aerators, low flow shower head(s), thermostatic valve(s), water temperature turndown, water heater blanket, and pipe insulation) – at no cost to you!

PLEASE NOTE: Effective January 1, 2026, the PSEG Long Island Residential Energy Affordability Partnership Program has revised program protocols and will no longer offer appliance evaluations [refrigerators; window room air conditioners; dehumidifiers; air purifiers]. The REAP Program will provide installation of LED bulbs, water conservation devices, door sweeps, attic hatches, water heater blankets, and thermostats, if qualified. Participants will also continue to receive a $50 bill credit and a $30 voucher for the online Marketplace.*

REAP Program participation requires that all household members meet the 2026 Income Guidelines. You will need to provide proof of income when the REAP technician arrives. If you do not meet the eligibility requirements, the appointment may be cancelled.

Free REAP In-home Energy Survey
Have a REAP technician visit your home to determine the energy efficiency of your home. During the survey, the field technician provides personalized guidance and energy education focused on energy use patterns, energy saving tips, and referrals for other assistance programs. The field technician will also obtain information for eligibility in replacing inefficient measures. Customers may qualify to have energy-saving devices installed in their homes for FREE.

In order to schedule a REAP Home Energy Survey, you must:

  • Have a PSEG Long Island Account in your name
  • Have not had a REAP Home Energy Survey in the past 5 years. Both renters and homeowners may participate.
  • Meet the 2026 Income Guidelines (80% of the State Median Income) based on total income for entire household as posted below.

Reducing Your Energy Consumption
During the home energy survey, the REAP technician will talk to you about ways you can reduce your energy consumption.  The technician MAY also install energy-saving measures at no cost to you. The technician will select the energy-efficient devices that will have the greatest impact based on your individual circumstances, possibly including:

Please note: The product photos used below do not represent the actual devices supplied by REAP technicians and are for reference only.

Attic Hatch

Attic Hatch Covers

Attic hatch covers provide a continuous barrier to prevent air leakage between the attic and living spaces. This helps enhance insulation performance, maximizing the ability to retain heat in winter and repel heat in summer. By minimizing air leakage, attic hatch covers can lead to noticeable savings on energy bills and improve overall energy efficiency.
Door Sweeps

Door Sweeps

Door sweeps seal gaps between the door and the floor, preventing drafts and maintaining a consistent indoor temperature. This reduces the workload on heating and cooling systems, leading to lower energy consumption and reduced utility bills. By blocking drafts, door sweeps contribute to a more comfortable living environment and can significantly cut down on energy bills.
Pipe insulation

Electric Water Heater Pipe Insulation

Insulating hot water heater pipes assists in reducing heat loss. This can allow you to lower your water temperature setting to save money.
Sensi Smart Thermostat

Sensi Smart Thermostat

50% of money spent on utilities goes towards heating and cooling your home. The Sensi home thermostat can save you up to 20% in those energy bills and, in some cases, even more. This is because a smart thermostat keeps your home’s heating and cooling systems operating at maximum efficiency.
LED

LED Light Bulbs

ENERGY STAR-certified High-Efficiency (light-emitting diode) Light Bulbs produce light very efficiently, last 25 times longer than a traditional bulb, and use 75% less energy.
Shower head water flow

Water Flow Devices

Low-flow devices help save money by reducing water consumption and decreasing the amount of electricity needed to heat the water. These include faucet aerators, low flow showerheads, and thermostatic valves.
water heater insulation

Water Heater Insulation Blanket

Hot water heater insulation blankets provide an extra layer of insulation around the water heater tank. This insulation reduces heat loss by preventing heat from escaping into the surrounding environment. This results in lower energy bills and potential savings over time.
