We care about your safety
We understand the critical need for power when life-support equipment is in use. It's your responsibility to plan ahead to meet your medical needs if the power goes out. But you can receive enhanced notifications with our Critical Care Program. When there is severe weather, we will stay in touch with you. If you lose power, every effort will be made to restore it as soon as possible. However, there may be circumstances when timely restoration is difficult, particularly in the case of a severe storm.
Join our Critical Care Program, by providing a medical certificate from a doctor, local Board of Health, nurse practitioner or physician assistant. Please call us at 1-800-490-0025. We encourage advance preparation because a power outage can happen at any time. Participation in the Critical Care Program does not guarantee priority power restoration.

Devices that meet medical criteria for life-support equipment include:
- Apnea monitors for infants
- Curraiss respirators
- Hemodialysis machines
- IV feeding machines
- IV medical infusion machines
- Oxygen concentrators
- Positive pressure respirators
- Respirator/ventilators
- Rocking bed respirators
- Suction machines
- Tank type respirators
Additional devices may qualify as life-support equipment if certified by a physician.
