PSEG Long Island: Storm Update—February 26, 2016 5:30 a.m. ET

  • Of PSEG Long Island’s more than 1.1 million customers, just more than 102,000 lost power as a result of the damaging storm that passed through the service territory Wednesday night and Thursday morning
    • As of 5:30 a.m. ET Friday, the utility has restored service to more than 97 percent of its customers that lost power
    • 1,760 of those customers that lost power prior to 10:00 a.m. ET on Thursday remain out
  • PSEG Long Island’s crews will continue to have the support of out-of-state and off-island crews and contractors throughout the day to restore power to its customers
  • We are appreciative of the patience that our customers have shown us as we work to restore power as quickly and safely as possible

  • To report downed wires or power outages, customers should call PSEG Long Island’s Electric Service line at 1-800-490-0075
  • Utilize MyAlerts, PSEG Long Island’s text message service. Once registered, report power outages by texting “OUT” to PSEGLI (773454)
    • To register have your account number available and text REG to PSEGLI (773454)
  • Check for updates using our outage map at https://www.psegliny.com/c.cfm/Outage
  • Like PSEG Long Island on Facebook (www.facebook.com/psegli) and follow us on Twitter (@PSEGLI) for updates. Remember, though, outages cannot be reported through social media
  • To prevent carbon monoxide poisoning, do not run any gasoline powered engines, including generators and snow blowers, in a garage or any other enclosed space. Do not use your oven to heat your home
