Elmont and Levittown Have New Public Charging Stations Thanks to Nearly $1 Million in Rebates from PSEG Long Island

World EV Day is Sept. 9, 2026

(UNIONDALE, N.Y. – Sept. 1, 2026)  EV drivers in Elmont and Levittown have more places to charge their vehicles thanks to incentives from PSEG Long Island. Charge point operator (CPO) Get Charged Fast EV Charging received more than $928,000 in rebates from PSEG Long Island to install 16 universal chargers: eight at 1760 Hempstead Tpke. in the parking lot of Home Depot in Elmont and eight in the parking lot of Nassau Mall at 3601 Hempstead Tpke. In Levittown.

Through its EV Make Ready program, PSEG Long Island has been helping CPOs, developers and business owners to offset the costs associated with installing electric vehicle charging ports since 2021. EV Make Ready was created to encourage the creation of a broader EV charging network throughout the community and reduce “range anxiety” for drivers. To date, PSEG Long Island has provided rebates for more than 2,000 EV chargers to businesses, municipalities and organizations to support the growth of this network.

“PSEG Long Island created the EV Make Ready program to help promote the build out of EV fast charging stations in public places, such as shopping areas, apartments, office buildings and parks across Long Island. We appreciate that business owners are recognizing the benefits of installing electric vehicle chargers, which include attracting customers, creating a new revenue stream and highlighting their commitment to sustainability. PSEG Long Island offers significant financial incentives to offset much of the building costs needed for large and small commercial customers to create the groundwork to install EV chargers.”

-  Paul DiBenedetto, Electric Vehicle Program Manager, PSEG Long Island

“We are grateful for the generous rebates from PSEG Long Island to offset the costs of building out these charging stations for EV drivers across our region,” said Marc W. Horowitz, co-managing partner, Get Charged Fast EV Charging. “PSEG Long Island’s EV team has been helpful, thoughtful and responsive in helping us plan out these two EV charging stations, along with more projects that are in the works in Nassau and Suffolk County. We appreciate PSEG Long Island’s collaboration to support our efforts to bring the power to the public.”

World EV Day™, held annually on Sept. 9, is a global celebration of electric mobility to champion EV adoption worldwide through events, education and more.
