(UNIONDALE, N.Y., June 22, 2023) — Wading River-based Mavec Advisors was among hundreds of companies that gathered on May 18 to help increase the economic opportunities for businesses owned by minorities, women and service-disabled veterans at PSEG Long Island’s annual Supplier Diversity Fair.

Held at the Long Island Marriott in Uniondale, the fair offered diverse businesses an opportunity to meet with prospective buyers, PSEG Long Island decision-makers and vendors who are currently doing business with PSEG Long Island to learn about new contract opportunities and introduce their firms.

PSEG Long Island’s supplier diversity accomplishments
When PSEG Long Island started in 2014, it spent $14.8 million with approximately 60 minority- and women-owned business enterprises (MWBEs). Eight years later, in 2022, PSEG Long Island’s yearly spend had grown to $66.8 million with more than 150 MWBEs and $7.6 million spent with more than 15 service-disabled veteran-owned businesses (SDVOBs).

“PSEG Long Island is committed to diversity and inclusion throughout the company, including the procurement of suppliers. As a good corporate citizen and neighbor, we believe there’s a moral and ethical imperative to procure products and services through a diverse group of suppliers. We’ve also found that this is a smart decision for our business.”
