Meadowbrook State Parkway Onramp and Offramp Closures Required at Old Country Road Overnight Tuesday, Feb. 17

(UNIONDALE, N.Y. – Feb. 12, 2026)  PSEG Long Island will be working overnight Tuesday to Wednesday morning on important power lines that cross the Meadowbrook State Parkway along Old Country Road in Garden City, requiring the temporary closure of some offramps and onramps around Exit M1. 

For the protection of utility workers and motorists, the following lanes, onramps and offramps will be closed, weather permitting, from 9 PM Feb. 17 until 5:30 AM Feb. 18:

• Meadowbrook State Parkway: Southbound offramp to Old Country Road eastbound
• Old Country Road: Two eastbound lanes crossing over the Meadowbrook State Parkway
• Old Country Road: Eastbound lane onramp to northbound Meadowbrook State Parkway
• Old Country Road: Southbound onramp to Meadowbrook Parkway
  

Motorists will be notified in advance of the pending road closures via electronic message signs and are urged to use an alternate route as they may experience delays — especially during the initial closure around 9 PM on both sides of the Meadowbrook State Parkway and both sides of Old Country Road. To minimize the impact to motorists, the signage will be in place Friday morning after rush hour subsides.    

As with most road work, this operation is weather dependent and may be canceled, postponed, or prolonged due to inclement weather.
