Open a Business Account

Here’s a quick and easy checklist to make sure you have all the things you'll need.

Checkmark A completed, notarized Application for ServicePDF signed by an Owner, Corporate Officer or Authorized Agent. If your business has existing, active accounts in the same name, the application does not need to be notarized.
Checkmark A signed lease, deed or current property tax bill. For the leased locations, we need to see the signatures page and the pages that indicate the start date of your occupancy.

All Non-Residential customers are required to pay a deposit. The deposit is based on two months average billing, or based on a load letter if provided. Deposits are returned to you, with interest, if all bills are paid on time for 36 months and after a credit review of your business.

Deposits of $1,000 or more must be paid in cash, bank check or money order. Personal or business checks are acceptable for deposits under $1,000.Your deposit amount may be obtained by calling our Business Solutions Center, 1-800-966-4818 or emailing us.

Checkmark Please be sure to fill out the “service and rate classification” load section or provide a load letter. If you do not know your equipment load, an electric load letter can be obtained from a licensed electrician. When we understand how much electricity your business will use each month, we can ensure we assign the best rate for your business.
Checkmark A Sales Tax Exemption Certificate if you are tax exempt.
Checkmark Religious, veterans or community residence organization maybe eligible for a residential rate. (Additional documentation required)

Once you have all of the required documentation, and your deposit in cash, bank check or money order, you may visit one of our Customer Service Centers to begin your new PSEG Long Island account. If you are unable to visit one of our Customer Service Centers, please call our Business Solutions Center at 1-800-966-4818 for alternate options. Find the nearest Customer Service Centers here
