PSEG Long Island Employees Make Donation to Ready for Rescue Pet Rescue to Help Animals across Long Island

(UNIONDALE, N.Y. – Aug. 20, 2025)  PSEG Long Island employees made a $400 donation to the Ready for Rescue animal rescue organization earlier this year. The donation, which was presented in Stony Brook at one of the organization’s foster homes, was made through PSEG Long Island’s Adelante LI employee business resource group (EBRG), which is made up of employees who promote, advocate and support Hispanic people and cultures.

“In many of our cultures, caring for all members of our community, human or animal, is a core value, and PSEG Long Island has a longstanding commitment to supporting our neighbors, and the special animals in our lives. It was a pleasure to help the Ready for Rescue organization and its mission to save pets’ lives, and it was great to see our donation in action. My colleagues and I made this donation to help the organization save cats and dogs in shelters to give them a second chance at life. It is an amazing feeling to help.”

“While we save cats and dogs of all stripes, we are especially focused on the ones who will have the hardest time getting adopted from the shelters because of their age or medical conditions,” said Doug Halsey, Ready for Rescue president and founder. “Because these medical costs can be astronomical, we are particularly grateful for PSEG Long Island's generous contribution, which directly offset the medical needs of rescue animals awaiting surgeries.”

Ready for Rescue is an all-volunteer animal rescue group committed to saving cats and dogs from the streets and shelters of New York, including Long Island town animal shelters in Babylon and Hempstead, and across the country.

Community service is part of PSEG Long Island’s core commitments. This donation is an example of how its employees support the causes and issues they care about and those that affect their neighbors throughout the year.
