PSEG Long Island Announces its 2026 Safety Sleuth Poster Gallery Featuring the Artwork of Local Third, Fourth and Fifth Graders
Thousands of young learners complete free PSEG Long Island electrical safety coursework to become badge-wearing “Safety Sleuths” - June is National Safety Month
(UNIONDALE, N.Y. – June 18, 2026) PSEG Long Island proudly announces the opening of its 2026 Safety Sleuth poster gallery featuring the artwork of more than 100 children.
Safety is a top priority for PSEG Long Island, and that’s why, in recognition of National Safety Month (June), the company is unveiling its second annual online gallery of electric safety-focused poster art created by local young learners from across PSEG Long Island’s service area.
During the school year, nearly 2,500 first, third, fourth and fifth graders in 28 schools across Long Island and the Rockaways learned about electrical safety in their classrooms through PSEG Long Island’s free Safety Sleuth program. Then the students applied their knowledge to create colorful electrical safety posters addressing topics such as flying kites and drones, overloading electrical outlets, and how to be safe around downed power lines. Each participant received a “Safety Sleuth” badge for their efforts in the program. More than 400 posters were submitted for consideration in the gallery.
“This year’s submissions were so creative and on point that choosing the best of the best was challenging. All the posters accurately depict real life scenarios and corresponding safety messages to educate the public. Clearly students took our lessons to heart as they used their artistic talents to create these Safety Sleuth posters. Thank you to all the teachers who utilized PSEG Long Island’s free Safety Sleuth program to help their students and their families to be safe around electricity. Congratulations to our new class of badge-wearing Safety Sleuths!”
