Since 2014, we have upgraded equipment along more than 3,300 miles of the energy grid– nearly 38 percent of the entire system! Our reliability improvement projects and storm-hardening initiatives strive to meet everyone's growing energy needs.

Through our Free Energy-Saving Trees program, we have distributed new trees throughout Long Island and the Rockaways - because planting the right trees in the right location can reduce utility bills and promote ongoing system reliability. Just part of our mission to leave Long Island better than we found it!

In the Community, Every Day

On any given day, you may see PSEG Long Island employees in parks, at food banks and drives, at schools, in senior centers, or on charity walks giving back to our communities. Since 2014, PSEG Long Island and our employees supported more than 500 organizations and provided more than 100,000 service hours.

From March of Dimes to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, we support Long Islanders in ways that go beyond providing safe, reliable power; we connect with them through their interests and causes as well. Why do we do this? Because we care. After all, it’s our island, too.

Managing energy costs shouldn't mean sacrificing comfort. We can help you avoid seasonal bill spikes with Balanced Billing, shift energy use to lower-cost off-peak hours with Time-of-Day rates or upgrade the energy efficiency of your home or business to reduce your energy usage and electricity bills.  

From special discounts for income-eligible customers, to one-on-one consultations with our Customer Advocates, we can help you find programs and resources to make energy more affordable. Since 2014, PSEG Long Island has offered options to help make energy more affordable because it’s our island, too.

From the Rockaways to Montauk, we’re helping businesses of all sizes start up, turn the lights on and keep costs down. We empower economic development so local businesses can create and retain jobs and give our towns a leg up. Through our Business First program, we're supporting Long Island's local businesses like never before! Since 2014, PSEG Long Island has delivered more than $3.4 million in grants and incentives to help mom and pops grow.

Electric Grid

Safety, Every Day

Safety is our most important responsibility. Throughout the year, many of PSEG Long Island’s 2,700 employees volunteer and coordinate with the American Red Cross, schools and other community organizations to educate the public about electrical safety. 

We also offer free electric safety training for all fire departments, police, Homeland Security, and local civil defense teams. Our Mobile Electric Safety Unit is a three-quarter-scale model of a real electric grid—complete with poles, wires, and transformers. It's a powerful tool for teaching the public about high-voltage hazards.
