Cradle of Aviation Museum Earns more than $100,000 for being Energy Efficient

(UNIONDALE, N.Y. – Dec. 5, 2023) PSEG Long Island applauds the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City for making a commitment to the environment with a project estimated to reduce the museum’s energy usage by more than 400,000-kilowatt hours per year. That translates to approximately $70,000 per year in energy costs.

The museum earned $115,696 in energy efficiency rebates from PSEG Long Island for installing more than 800 new LED lighting fixtures and LED lightbulbs in the main galleries of the aerospace museum.

“PSEG Long Island commends the Cradle of Aviation Museum for replacing its lighting throughout the museum with energy efficient LEDs,” said  “By making this significant upgrade, we were able to provide the museum with a significant rebate, and the exhibits look great with the new lighting.”
