Demolition Request Requirements

To request demolition of service, where all electric facilities are removed from the premises and billing is terminated at your service location, please submit the documents outlined below and complete the following steps:

Demolition Request
Checkmark Contact our Call Center at 1-800-490-0025
Resolve all outstanding billing issues and request your service be “turned off.” This ensures you receive your last meter reading and bill for service. We cannot remove the electric facilities at your location until the account is closed and finalized.
Checkmark Electric Demolition Request
Complete and return a formal Electric Demolition RequestPDF. Please be sure to complete all fields of the attached form, especially where you would like your demolition letter mailed. This letter will confirm the facilities have been removed from your service location. We cannot issue a letter stating the facilities are removed from your service location until this is confirmed by our field personnel.
Checkmark Proof of Ownership
Submit Proof of Ownership to Building & Renovation Services in the form of either a tax bill, deed or title.

Submission of Request
Please submit all documentation to Building & Renovation Services either via email to or via fax at 1-844-846-1550. From the time all documentation is received, requests typically have a 3-5 week time frame for completion, weather permitting.

Please contact National Grid at 1-631-348-6150 to start the Gas Demolition process even if there is no gas at your location.
