FEMA Electric Circuit Improvement Projects

We're upgrading key electric circuits in your neighborhood to improve reliability of the electric grid.

Project Locations

Affected Route One: Completed

Crews will be working on 2.4 miles of an electric main line circuit on the following streets:

  • Old Montauk Highway between Coolidge Road + Montauk Highway (easternmost intersection near Second House Road)
  • Second House Road between Montauk Highway and Industrial Road
  • Industrial Road between Second House Road and Edgemere Street

Affected Route Two - Montauk | Start date: October 2017: Completed

The route will cover approximately 4.3 miles along an electric main line circuit on the following streets:

  • Fairview Avenue between Fairlawn Drive and South Fairview Avenue
  • Foxboro Road between Fairview Avenue and Glenmore Avenue
  • Glenmore Avenue between Foxboro Road and North Farragut Road
  • North Farragut Road between Glenmore Avenue and Flamingo Avenue
  • Gloucester Avenue between Fairview Avenue and Greenwich Street
  • Greenwich Street between Gloucester Avenue and North Fernwood Drive
  • North Fernwood Drive between Greenwich Street and West Lake Drive
  • West Lake Drive between North Fernwood Drive and East Flamingo Avenue
  • East Flamingo Avenue between West Lake Drive and Flamingo Avenue
  • Flamingo Avenue between West Lake Drive and East Flamingo Avenue

In addition, switching equipment will be replaced at North Farragut Road east of Flamingo Avenue and Fairview Avenue between Fairview Terrace and Fairlawn Drive

Affected Route Three - Amagansett and Napeague | Start date: September 2018

Crews will be working on 6.5 miles of an electric main line circuit on the following streets:

  • Windmill Lane between Town Lane and Main Street (Route 27)
  • Indian Wells Highway between Further Lane and Main Street (Route 27)
  • Further Lane between Further Court and Indian Wells Highway
  • Montauk Highway (Route 27) between Abrahams Path and Cranberry Hole Road (Route 33)
  • Cranberry Hole Road (Route 33) between Montauk Highway (Route 27) and Napeague Meadow Road
  • Napeague Meadow Road (Route 33) between Cranberry Hole Road (Route 33) and Montauk Highway (Route 27)

In addition, switching equipment will be installed at Napeague Meadow Road (Route 33) north of Montauk Highway (Route 27) and Montauk Highway (Route 27) east of Oak Lane

Affected Route Four - Northwest Harbor | Start date: September 2018

Crews will be working on 4.5 miles of an electric main line circuit on the following streets:

  • Three Mile Harbor Road between Oakview Highway and Soak Hides Road
  • Springy Banks Road between Three Mile Harbor Road and Hands Creek Road
  • Hands Creek Road between Dongan Way and Ely Brook Road
  • Ely Brook Road between Hands Creek Road and Northwest Road
  • Alewife Brook Road between Ely Brook Road and Hands Creek Road

In addition, switching equipment will be installed at Soak Hides Road west of Three Mile Harbor Road

Affected Route Five - Noyack and the Village of Sag Harbor in the Towns of Southampton and East Hampton | Start Date: November 2018

  • Noyac Road between Bay Avenue and Brick Kiln Road
  • Stony Hill Road between Noyac Road and Rosewood Drive .
  • Hildreth Street between Noyac Road and Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike
  • Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike between Hildreth Street and Scuttle Hole Road
  • Brick Kiln Road between Noyac Road and Main Street
  • Jermain Avenue between Main Street and Division Street
  • Division Street between Jermain Avenue and Hampton Street
  • Elizabeth Street between Division Street and Atlantic Avenue
  • Atlantic Avenue between Elizabeth Street and Clinton Street
  • Clinton Street between Atlantic Avenue and Hampton Street
  • Hampton Street between Clinton Street and Eastville Avenue
  • Eastville Avenue between Hampton Street and Hempstead Street
  • Oakland Avenue between Jermain Avenue and Main Street
  • Palmer Terrace between Jermain Avenue and Main Street
  • Main Street between Palmer Terrace and Garden Street
  • Garden Street between Main Street and Spring Street
  • Spring Street between Garden Street and Main Street
  • Bridge Street between Spring Street and West Water Street
  • Rose Street between Bridge Street and Meadow Street

In addition, switching equipment will be replaced at Noyac Road west of Brick Kiln Road and Brick Kiln Road west of Main Street

  • South Edin Street between South Edgemere Street and Essex Street
  • South Fairview Avenue between Essex Street and South Ferncroft Place
  • South Ferncroft Place between South Fairview Avenue and West Lake Drive
  • West Lake Drive between South Ferncroft Place and Montauk Highway

Affected Route Seven - Amagansett, East Hampton North, and the Village of East Hampton | Start Date: November 2018

  • North Main Street between Springs Fireplace Road and Newtown Lane
  • Cedar Street between Gould Street and Palma Terrace  

In addition, switching equipment will be installed at Town Lane east of Windmill Lane, Floyd Street east of Spinner Lane, North Main Street north of Talmage Lane and Cedar Street west of North Main Street
